Who Is Big Co?
Jericho Johnson is a class of 2024, 4-Star Defensive Lineman for the Armijo Royals, whose leadership both on and off the field has helped lead his team to a 6-4 record for the first time in almost 2 decades. There’s no wonder the 6-foot-4, 300 pound trench monster, racked up nearly 2 dozen D-1 scholarship offers from all over the country from the likes of Georgia, Alabama, USC, Oregon, and Washington to name a few. A varsity starter all 4 seasons, honorably mentioned as a Freshman, he made the Monticello Empire All-League First Team Defense his Sophomore, Junior and Senior year, and was named 2023 co-Lineman of the Year.
His career stats thus far read, 88 total tackles, 61 solo tackles, 18 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, and 24 tackles for loss. “Big Co” as he’s affectionately known, dominated the field like a man among boys his senior year. He’s been described as “twitchy”, an athletic giant, with one of the fastest most violent “get-offs” you’ve seen from a defensive lineman. Johnson also managed to add All-American to his resume as he was selected by the All-American Bowl Selection Committee to be invited to play in the 2024 Adidas All-American Bowl in San Antonio, TX.
